Remote Pilot's Licence (RePL + Express ReOC)

Course Description

This course has specifically been designed for individuals looking to obtain their Remote Pilot’s Licence (RePL) via interactive and mentored classroom learning along with Online Self study!

Upon completion of this program, students will be licenced and fully prepared to conduct commercial operations with remotely piloted systems that have a take of weight of less than 7kg.

This Remote Pilot’s licence program is broken down into three parts:

Theory
Practical training (5 hours of mentored practical flying – Drones provided by Ace)
Field tests & Theoretical exams (Held at the training fields or in class respectively)

Upon enrolment, students will receive a comprehensive welcome pack containing all information relating to their NEW Blended RePL course as well as access to Ace Aviation’s student portal materials. During these 5 days, students will be mentored by Ace Aviation’s trainers as they work through several theoretical and practical components. These modules will provide students with a complete understanding of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) operations, procedures, terminology and applications.

Over the 5 days, students will alternate between practical and theoretical study. Practical training and assessment will be held at the training fields, while theoretical study and exams will be held in class. Students will be fully guided and supported throughout the process and this course will include FREE refreshers classes for students to come and resit the course to catch you with new regulatory changes or brush up on topics which they need some extra assistance with!

The theoretical exam will be in a multi-choice format and all topics in the exam will have been covered beforehand by trainers and online study materials. The practical side of this course includes two days of field training, where students will learn how to manage their aircraft with the assistance of Ace trainers.

During this time, students will be able to work with trainers through any difficulties they may be having in controlling/maneuvering their drone. The practical assessment component of this course is not considered difficult. It is required by law to ensure that future pilots can operate their drone safely. With our trainers by your side throughout the entire course, you will be well prepared in all aspects of commercial drone operations.

Why get a Remote Pilot’s Licence (RePL)?

The Remote Pilot’s Licence opens up a world of opportunities and fully prepares you to become a compliant and effective drone operator. This lifetime qualification has been approved by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and makes you eligible to be employed as a drone pilot.

Please note: This licence on its own does not entitle you to start your own drone business. It only allows you to become an operator under another company’s existing Remote Operator’s Certificate (ReOC). If you wish to start your own drone business view courses that includes a ReOC.With an RePL, you can:

Be employed by existing companies to fly their RPA
Operate drones with a take off weight greater than 2kg commercially
Request approvals for non-standard operations from CASA
Operate in areas that non-licenced pilots cannot

Why get a Remote Operator’s Certificate (ReOC)?

While a RePL allows you to operate a drone or RPAS, a Remote Operator’s Certificate allows you to own and manage your own commercial drone business. This is an essential certification that you require by law in order to either integrate drone operations into your existing business or start your own drone business.

Ace Aviation will take care of all the forms and manuals required by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) on your behalf.

With a ReOC you can:

Fly under regardless if you fly under another businesses
Employ other remote pilots in your business
Fly any drone more than 2kg
Fly in restricted areas that can be made available allowing you to fly in more locations
Operate closer than 30 meters, but no less than 15 meters, from a person
Fly at night (with night approval)
Get approval to the regulations e.g. beyond-visual-line-of-sight where With CASA Approval
Apply for a range of different additional approvals (e.g. applying agricultural chemicals, Heavy Lift)

This package will include Remote Operators Certificate (ReOC). Ace Aviation will tailor and prepare all the documentations required for you to operate commercially and submit them to CASA for approval.
